Welcome to our story…

Recovering Hipster Goods (RHG) is a woman-owned “re”collector of things store —think of us as part treasure hunters, part sustainability crusaders. Founded by Kayte Green, RHG grew from her knack for finding gently used, high-quality gems into a mission to rescue them from the landfill and put them back into loving homes. Kayte has rallied a crew (our extended RHG Fam) of like-minded curators, designers, and educators to create a space where creativity, community, and second chances for great stuff all thrive. From hosting community clothes swaps, partnering with vintage markets, doing “pop-up” shops, and hosting sustainability lectures — RHG is more than just a shop; it is a movement,

We run on a buy-sell-trade model that keeps pieces in circulation and challenges the throwaway culture of fast fashion —an industry responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions and mountains of textile waste each year. Here, secondhand isn’t second-best; it’s the solution.

Kayte’s uncanny gift? She can clock a mid-century lamp or vintage leather jacket from across the room and instantly know who in our community will give it its next chapter. Her knack for finding gems extends beyond the shop, too—like the time she got lost in Tokyo and ended up in a tiny, dimly lit dive bar where the “jukebox” was just stacks of well-worn CDs behind the counter and made friends with the bartender, who remains her 友 (tomo)!
